FULL SUPPORT

We have a range of student support services to make your time with us a great experience!

Everyone’s journey is different, and sometimes you may need some extra support. That is why we’re here to help. Our student support services are available to all of our students, making your learning experience just that little bit easier.

We have a comprehensive student services team that provides a variety of services to take care of our students’ different needs outside of the classroom.

We want our students to succeed! We make sure this is realised by providing you with a friendly environment that will make it near impossible not to make it to the other side. It doesn’t matter whether you attend classes on campus or receive training in a community setting campus; we will still provide you with the same high level of support.

You will also have access to practical skills training and a network of services including advice on:

  • Study skills and planning
  • Group tuition
  • Support with personal and family concerns
  • Airport transfer

We make sure that students are welcomed on arrival:

  • 7 days, 24 hour service
  • 24 hour emergency number in case of flight changes

Please note that for arrivals after 10pm, students may be required to go into temporary accommodation for the first night at their own cost.

Accommodation

We offer students a choice of quality accommodation options in a safe and relaxed environment. In the case of homestay, the accommodations office ensures each student is matched with an appropriate family and is available to help students to adapt to their new life in Australia.

Homestay Options

At all homestays, students have their own room with a desk, chair, wardrobe and a comfortable bed. Homestays are easily accessible via public transportation and are usually within 20-30 minutes traveling time to the campus.

Student Housing

We can also arrange shared student house accommodation. These houses are professionally managed with single or share rooms and are self-catering where students can use the shared kitchen, to prepare meals. Students also share a bathroom and lounge room with other students.

Orientation

Orientation provides all students with a comprehensive introduction to the colleges. You will receive a welcome pack which contains information about your course and studying with our partners. It is compulsory that you attend Orientation as students are provided with important information at these sessions.

Work Opportunities

Working during or after study is one of the reasons why Australia is a popular destination for international students. We offer students professional support through our partner JobLink Australia, Australia’s leading recruitment organisation to help you to find a job depending on your visa conditions. We also offer options for internships and volunteer work.

Visa Application

This step is essential in your planning as without a visa there cannot be an exchange program.

If you don’t know what you will need to apply for your visa, do not worry, we understand that the bureaucratic procedures can be very confusing, so we offer total support throughout the process, regardless of the type of visa you are applying for.

It is important to understand that the final decision makers for granting or refusing a visa is the immigration department. However, our friendly team will provide advice regarding the visa type you will need and everything you must do to ensure an application that meets all the requirements.

Health Cover

Australia has a special system of health cover for International students which is called an Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). You will need to buy OSHC before you come to Australia to cover you from the day you arrive in Australia. The Department of Immigration and Citizenship requires you to maintain the OSHC for the duration of your time as a student visa holder in Australia.

You might find that your institution has an agreement with a specific OSHC provider. You can choose to take out the OSHC with this provider, or with the Australian OSHC provider of your choice. AES can assist you in obtaining the right OHSC membership through our partner provider, contact us for further details.

Your OSHC will help you to pay for any medical or hospital care you may need while you’re studying in Australia and it will contribute towards the cost of most prescription medicines, and an ambulance in an emergency.
